To ensure the quality of its products, Soylem Printing is working with Carlton towards obtaining accreditations from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the British Retail Consortium (BRC). These certifications play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining high-quality standards. FSC Certification: This accreditation focuses on ensuring that the paper products are sourced from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits. The FSC certification process involves adhering to a set of principles and criteria that include maintaining the ecological functions of the forest, respecting indigenous rights, and benefiting the lives of local communities and workers. BRC Global Standards for Packaging and Packaging Materials: This standard is designed to protect the consumer by providing a common basis for the certification of companies supplying packaging to manufacturers or retailers. The BRC accreditation involves rigorous quality checks and audits that focus on areas such as product safety, quality control, and performance, as well as the management of processes and personnel.
FSC certification primarily ensures that the paper products come from responsibly managed forests. Compliance involves strict oversight of the entire supply chain, from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing, and distribution. The BRC Global Standard focuses on quality, safety, and operational criteria. It ensures that manufacturers fulfill their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer. Supply chain details under BRC standards include rigorous supplier audits, risk-based quality control processes, and continuous improvement plans.
The materials Soylem Printing are using are recyclable and environmentally friendly. As mentioned, these practices will be accredited by relevant certifications.
The printing facilities are in-house.
The lead time typically includes both manufacturing and shipping. The duration of the manufacturing process depends on the order size, which can be calculated using the daily production capacities listed at the end of this document (pg. 5). Shipping can take from one to three weeks, depending on the shipping method selected by the customer. Additionally, Soylem Printing has committed to maintain a stockpile in the UK to quickly accommodate emergency demands.
